A WGCG members’ tour, led by Tony Waltham author of ‘Sandstone Caves of Nottingham’. The city of Nottingham has hundreds of man-made caves, which have been in use for over a thousand years.
Carved out of the Triassic sandstone they have been used over the years as a tannery, public house cellars and as an air raid shelter.
The caves are listed as a scheduled monument by Historic England.
Registration: WGCG members to await formal circulation of a registration form from the Membership & Admin Assistant and then register well in advance.
Our visit has to be limited to twenty WGCG members. More details later for the 20 registered attending WGCG members.
