After the formal part of the meeting some highlights of the last year will be described including:
Recent conservation and explanation board projects. For example:
- the board near the “geological wall” at the Brandon Nature Reserve
- the clearance of the exposure on the Kenilworth Greenway and the explanation panel
A description of the refurbishment of the Warwick Museum (by Dr Jon Radley, Curator of Natural Sciences) partial funded from the Holloway Bequest.
The Holloway Bequest has provided bursaries for a number of students principally at Birmingham and Leicester Universities and the Camborne School of Mines at Exeter University. Some of the projects undertaken by the students will be illustrated together with an interesting variety of ways in which the fund’s money was used.
The Holloway Bequest has also supported visits to geological sites for school groups from primary schools to college groups illustrated by a video of a group visit to the CSM test mine.
